Our first Thanksgiving

So Catherine asked me if we could cellebrate Thanksgiving. I said "Catherine, were not American.... plus we dont have a bird". Don't know why I thought that was necessary, but out of the blue Nigel bought us a whole chicken! So I thought, ok... we'll have Thanksgiving!

A quick google search showed me it's common to decorate the table with leaves and stuff, so we went and picked some leaves and flowers and made a little centre piece.
Catherine wrote out a little invitation for Mum, who was bemused at the idea of having Thanksgiving, and we invited one of Catherine's school friends too.
So we sat around at 5.30 ready to eat... I did a little speach for our first ever Thanksgiving and we each said a little bit about the things we were thankfull for. Dinner was scrummy as, chicken, roast potatoes, sausages and veges, with icecream and jelly from Shakira (Catherines friend) for desert.

Not sure how it's meant to go, but we had a very nice night.

Wonderful!! Catherine had a great idea, even if you aren't Americans. We all have things we're thankful for, but often forget to share them. I, for one, am happy to share Thanksgiving with anyone else.
