prettiest picture in the world!

Including pictures like this doesnt make my blog the prettiest in the world, but this is a pretty nice sight for me. I totally butchered the cupboard, but I don't care! I tell you, after moving the hinge for the third time, drilling my final holes (after which we were going to have to call in the experts), I said a little prayer and when that cupboard swung into place I literally started singing the hallelujah chorus.

Door two tommorrow, because yes, Catherine swung on both of them on separate occassions and broke both of them off.

As for our trip to Paengaroa on the weekend it was awesome. Catherine struck it off quite well with a little girl her own age and country life is great man. Everyone knows everyone and at the party, boy, the old folk had a tale or two to tell. Makes you feel pretty lucky to hear stories of husbands dying and leaving wives with six kids to raise on their own. "But she kept her pecker up and got on with it"... they said.

Oops, I'm so absent minded I totally forgot I was getting raptured tomorrow. Just incase I'm not I'll still be driving to Te Puke for my friends birthday. Poor her... raptured on her birthday. I hope she still gets to eat her cake. And it better happen after 12.00, else my car will be swerving off the motorway when I go.
Well, as this could be my last post I'm going to reveal a long held deep secret.
I WROTE MY NAME UNDER THE KITCHEN TABLE IN FELT PEN WHEN I WAS SIX.
There. I said it. Guilt free at last.

Well, I suppose its goodbye then. Umm... all the best...

you spelt it wrong mate!

Spot the spelling mistake... yup, line one "pleasure". It's a joke you hear at least once a day when your out in the community signwriting..."hey, you spelt it wrong!"... well, I actually did. But that's ok.. I was just practicing my lettering. You know, it's harder than it looks, just to get lettering looking good.
Signwriting bible verses hasnt made me any friends. I have to put up with snarky comments everytime xxxx comes into the garage. Oh well. Who cares??

Its good practice to memorise bible verses, and these are two I really thought I needed to take some consideration of. But I just thought today, hmmm.... quite applicable to certain international events that have just happened recently, huh?

Cousins baby

Well, my cousin had her baby girl on Wednesday. I've had these pattern pieces cut out and ready to sew for 5 months now, so the kid this was for has probably grown out of it... so off to my cousin it goes! I also added a bit of tatting to the collar. Hope she doesn't mind retro! I enjoy giving stuff away. The stuff I make myself doesnt make me happy... giving it away does! In a pretty good mood today. I read a cool blog on frugality. I LOVE being frugal! It really inspired me, so today I put some stewing beef in the slow cooker with veges and herbs from our garden... I made some hokey pokey biscuits and an apple crumble for pudding... and I made this dress. And dont you think something handmade can be much more special than something bought?

Oh yeah. Catherine made herself a robot costume for next weeks drama lesson. "Robots Revenge" its called.

Man I love Thursdays, and another one is coming up. So lucky to have our bach, and a place to escape to once a week.

And check this out. My cousins wife sent this a while back. (She just had a baby on Wednesday by the way). Any how. This is the family bach on Mums side. My Grandad made signs for all the grandkids and placed them around the place. I can't remember all of them, but I think they say things like Dean's Den, Justines jungle... well, I don't know them all. I've never actually been there to tell the truth, so this picture is the first I've ever seen of my one... 'Janet's Joint'. Pretty cool! I'll have to ask Uncle Garth if I can visit and get a picture with it.

sore.

Don't worry, I'm not in kooky-christian mode today. Today I'm pretty sore. I dropped the van off an hour and a half ago to get my Warrant of Fitness and the towbar put on, and instead of catching the train I had the bright idea of walking home. An hour later a pink sweaty me stumbles through the door.
The phone just rang after that sentence... it was the mechanic.. my car is ready!
Off I go. Um...I think I'll catch the train.
I'll quickly tell you about that book cover. I've been saving to get it self published and ready to have it given out at christmas. I illustrated a few years ago and I finally have the money to print it. I may put it on my blog when I'm done :)

This is fricken unbelievable. If this is not the end times I'll eat my hat... (it may be made from cake but I'll eat it).... A TORNADO IN AUCKLAND. This is unbelievable. We never, ever, EVER get tornadoes. I saw some bad ones in America, but that's so far away I didn't really take that much notice... busy I guess, and so much happening right now I'd taken a break from the news, and then I heard them interviewing a kiwi about a tornado... I thought it was a kiwi in the US... but no... the North Shore! My cousins live there. A 30 something year old man died... my cousin is 30 something.

All I can say is UNBELIEVABLE!!!
