The internal dialouge

Sometimes when God speaks, He makes a verse from the bible just pop out at you. One that "popped out" after I'd left my partner was "Bad company corrupts good character". And I knew it was a God thing, because although it stood out, it made me feel quite uncomfortable to refer to him that way.
But as time goes on I can tell its true, and I've dediced to be purposeful about reinstating good values into my life. Good values often come as little phrases we say and repeat to ourselves, and so I've started collecting some. Here's what I have so far:

- Be diligent
- Be reliable and faithful
- Have a routine, (I need to be in bed by nine if I'm going to make it through the week)
- Feed your faith, starve your fear
-Look and the mountain-mover, not the mountain
- Get up, dress up, show up
- Do your best and let God do the rest
-Do you see a man skilled in his work? He will not go unnoticed, he will serve before Kings (Proverbs)
-What you feed will grow, what you starve will die
-As a man thinks in his heart, so he is.
- PRACTICE MAKES PERFECT
-If you spend your life waiting for the storm, you'll never enjoy the sunshine
- PERSEVERE
-"The two keys of a wonderful character are altruism, the unselfish concern for others, and empathy, understanding and entering into the feelings of others."
-Commit your life to a cause bigger than yourself.

If you can think of any phrases or purls of wisdom which have helped you through life and made you who you are today, I would LOVE to hear! (Really!!!)

Love your list. Here's one,
from a sports figure, "The more I practice the luckier I get."
I always liked that.

How about: "What goes around comes around." The most important one for me is the so-called golden rule: "do unto others as you would have them do unto you" -- or -- a more modern version: "treat others as you would like them to treat you."
