custom bag orders

Made a couple of custom bags for some friends at church.

I trialed this (bottom) pattern before making the actual bag, which I thought was a disaster. I brought it to church yesterday to show her, and get some advice. It flops at the top (when you hold it up) and you cant see the design so I suggested I do another one skinnier at the top. 

She said, "yup, do that... and I'll buy both of these". Yay!! I was wondering what to do with this oddity!
